Towards the end of the Korean war
I would make weekend warrior rice runs from Ft. Lewis to Seattle
to feed Grandma Makuuchi in the Hirabayashi Nursing Home.
Even with her deep drawn out yawns
the beauty of her facial structures was obvious...
Sis sez, "Howard, don't you remember, people would stop her on the
streets
to tell her how beautiful she was..."
Grandma T. lived alone in an apartment of J/A Issei widowers*
She was chief flavorer for the Buddhist Church...
'Gotsosama' Obachans-
*They loved to play cards and roll their own
Dedicated to...
those lonesome cowboys without horses riding thru the nite skies alone
and to our women who held up three-fourths of the sky
with their Ki centered to the Earth
while serving tea
